Smart City Platforms
Everyone is currently talking about the challenges of digital change. For urban and regional planning, there is an opportunity to make urban and rural areas more efficient, technologically advanced, greener and more socially inclusive. But this also requires advanced IT platforms that manage data and information intelligently, prepare it in a targeted manner and meet the requirements of data protection.
In the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region, numerous companies and scientific institutions are already working with such IT platforms. And public administrations are also increasingly interested in "open urban platforms" in order to create new types of service offers for citizens and companies on the basis of new data-based applications or to improve existing offers or to interlink them even more closely.
The associated legal, organisational and technical challenges are manifold. Which standards exist and should be considered? Which offers are available for which requirements? Where does the data come from and how can it be used across applications? What is already feasible with simple means? Who is already working on which projects in the Rhine-Neckar Metropolitan Region?
The workshop invites experts from business, science and administration to discuss these questions and wants to be a compass on the way to an intelligently networked future. KYBEIDOS will give a lecture on the "Industrial Data Space".
