A mail order company has over 30,000 articles in its assortment. But not all of them sell equally well in all weathers. Should rain jackets or swimming trunks be prominently placed in the online shop? The integration of weather data helps!
Project requirements/tasks
Our customer is a large German mail order company with an online offering that is used by several million customers. For his business intelligence, he wants to evaluate forecasts from databases of the German Weather Service and other meteorological service providers. These not only have to be retrieved regularly, but also integrated with existing customer data.
This is our contribution
We have set up a mechanism for our customer to automatically provide him with current and forecast data on rain probability, temperature and much more. On this basis he can make smart evaluations and adjust his assortment and discount campaigns.
Tomorrow it should rain, storm or snow: The database provided by us not only allows online retailers to place certain weatherproof products in their shop in the digital shop window or to advertise them separately. They also know when which product in their warehouse needs to be particularly easily accessible.
